Pete Davidson and model Elsie Hewitt split just 5 months after welcoming daughter
A comedian has split from his model girlfriend just five months after welcoming a baby together, with sources revealing the reason for the decision.
Pete Davidson and Elsie Hewitt have officially split just five months after welcoming their daughter, The US Sun has exclusively learned.
Insiders close to the couple said the problems in their relationship began to escalate after the model, 30, gave birth to their first child, Scottie Rose, in December.
A source claimed to the outlet that Davidson’s busy work schedule formed a wedge between them, and ultimately led to the break-up.
“Pete has been travelling so much for work, but Elsie was craving more support from him at home after their daughter was born,” said the insider.
“It was very hard for him because, obviously, he has to work to make money.”
Another source said they pulled the plug very recently, adding: “They are just focusing 100 per cent on Scottie. Working out the best co-parenting solution is their top priority.”
A rep for the couple declined to comment.
The Saturday Night Live star, 32, has spent much of the past several weeks travelling, including attending his Netflix Is a Joke special in Los Angeles on May 9, and the Kevin Hart roast the next day – Mother’s Day.
Hewitt seemingly spent the holiday alone at home in Brooklyn, New York, and did not post anything about Davidson.
In an Instagram Story on Thursday, the new mum shared a snap of herself getting overwhelmed with parenting demands.
“When you finally get screaming baby down for a nap and you exhale and sit with yourself for a sec and realise you haven’t breathed for an hour or peed all day,” she vented to her followers. “The silence is deafening.”
The insider claimed it became clear that the relationship was ending last month as Davidson started to offload his properties.
“Pete is selling his properties, including his upstate home and his Staten Island apartment, to open up funds as they move forward and figure out their next steps,” the insider explained, referring to Davidson’s possible child support payments to his ex.
He is selling his Staten Island condo at a $US350,000 ($485,000) loss. (The sale is still in the contract stage.)
Last summer, sources told The US Sun about the difficulties the couple were experiencing in their new relationship, as Hewitt navigated the early stages of her pregnancy.
According to a source, their arguments were getting nasty.
“It’s getting out of control,” the source said. “They’ve even started secretly recording each other.”
It is legal to record someone without their knowledge in New York since it is a one-party consent state.
The couple began dating in early 2025. She announced her pregnancy that July, and gave birth to their daughter on December 12.
