Tracy unearths yet another Coronation Street murder suspect and Todd kicks off

You know who would make the worst detective in Coronation Street? Tracy Barlow (Kate Ford). And yet, she’s got a theory about who killed Theo Silverton (James Cartwright) that jut might be true… unfortunately for Todd Grimshaw (Gareth Pierce)

Tracy would probably be the very last person you’d want to solve a murder. Sure she’s ruthless, but she’s interested in gossip, not justice. Just because she bludgeoned her boyfriend to death during a striptease does not make her an expert on true crime.

But that won’t stop her from putting in her two penneth about the identity of Theo Silverton’s murderer.

Indeed, the Whodunnit is the talk of the Cobbles right now, with six residents on the suspect list as more shocking details of that night come to light.

First on the list is Todd Grimshaw (Gareth Pierce), who Theo tortured and abused to breaking point during the year-long course of their toxic relationship.

Next up is the local undertaker, Todd’s friend and mentor George Shuttleworth (Tony Maudsley), who first noticed Theo’s many red flags along with his girlfriend Christina Boyd (Amy Robbins). Then there’s Summer Spellman (Harriet Bibby), the adoptive daughter of Billy Mayhew (Daniel Brocklebank) who Theo left to die. Not to mention Theo’s disgruntled ex-best mate with a history of getting blood on his hands, Gary Windass (Mikey North).

So far Gary has looked incredibly guilt while the finger of suspicion has also pointed towards Summer.

But there’s one suspect who has not been considered yet… until Tracy puts her detective hat on, that is. I’m talking about Theo’s long suffering ex wife, Danielle Silverton (Natalie Anderson).

The former Mrs Silverton had a good reason to despise the raging narcissist, seeing as though he ended their marriage to be with Todd, leaving her to look after their two children.

Her last visit to the Cobbles ended badly when Sarah Platt (Tina O’Brien), who was looking out for Todd’s welfare, asked if she had ever been the victim of domestic violence from Theo. Danielle was outraged at the suggestion, but curiously enough, did not say no.

The scorned Mrs Silverton is set to return to Weatherfield in time for Theo’s funeral, where she will drop a bombshell on a gobsmacked Todd.

And when Danielle stops by Preston’s petals to buy some flowers for the sombre occasion, it sets off Tracy’s inner Miss Marple.

After Danielle pays for Theo’s funeral flowers, Tracy speculates Danielle must be in line for a decent inheritance. This sets George’s mind whirring as he suggests a motive for murder. Could George be right?

In case Danielle doesn’t look suspicious enough already, she gatecrashes Todd’s meal with friends in the Bistro and publicly accuses Todd of murdering Theo for his life insurance.

Like the legend she is, Mary Taylor (Patti Clare) defends Todd and suggests that Danielle is trying to deflect attention away from herself because maybe she murdered Theo.

It looks like Mary shares Tracy’s theory. And seeing how Ryan Connor (Ryan Prescott) follows Danielle out and reveals that he saw her near the crime scene on the night Theo was killed, it seems that Tracy might be right…
