He also joined in with the crowd’s chanting, as some supporters climbed up onto the tables of a nearby pub and got very stuck into the sporting spirit.

A video of the star captured by Kathryn Leann, founder and CEO of Interpreting Sports who own Boston Sports Tours, has been circulating on social media, and fans watching it couldn’t help but point out where they recognised the star from.

Taking to Reddit to discuss it, one surprised user said: “Is that an absolutely clattered Adam Barlow? [Sam Robertson]”

A second shared: “The person filming clearly had no idea who it was!”

Sam then left the soap in 2007, but reprised his role as solicitor Adam in 2016.

The role of Adam was originally played by child actor Iain De Caestecker from 2001 to 2003 before Sam took over the role.
