Coronation Street

All Coronation Street spoilers for next week as departing character meets ‘final end’

Vengeance, violence and a very scary look into the future

There’s a dark disappearance, a brutal assault and a discovery which could prove damning next week in Coronation Street.

Unable to match Ross Wilkes (Ian Burfield), defeated by his manipulations and disowned by her loved ones, Cassie Plummer (Claire Sweeney) prepares to leave Weatherfield under a dark cloud, but when the man who paid for sex and impregnated her as a child catches up with her before she leaves, will she even make it off the cobbles alive?

Lauren Bolton (Cait Fitton) still wants blood from Dylan Wilson (Liam McCheyne) over what happened to Betsy Swain (Sydney Martin), and she has Brody Michaelis (Ryan Mulvey) unanimously on her side. When Ryan Connor (Ryan Prescott) organises a clandestine meeting between Betsy and Dylan and they’re caught by Lisa Connor-Swain (Vicky Myers), she furiously ejects him from her house. When Dylan’s later found unconscious and taken to hospital, who’s guilty of putting him there?

The truth behind Sienna Milburn’s (Charlotte Tyree) behaviour becomes apparent this week, when her dementia-suffering mum, Sadie (Elizabeth Rider), arrives in Weatherfield. With Debbie Webster (Sue Devaney) and Ronnie Bailey (Vinta Morgan) struck by the window into the future, Alya Nazir (Sair Khan) endeavours to help Sienna, but will she let her?

Elsewhere, Kit Green (Jacob Roberts) takes aim at Gary Windass (Mikey North), Sally Metcalfe (Sally Dynevor) has a difficult conversation, Tim Metcalfe’s (Joe Duttine) cousin arrives and Fiz Dobbs (Jennie McAlpine) is deeply suspicious.

Is Cassie in danger?

Waking up on the sofa of No.4, Cassie laments to Tim about Steve McDonald (Simon Gregson) dumping her and Tyrone Dobbs (Alan Halsall) disowning her. After an emotional goodbye with Hope, Ruby and Dorin (Isabella Flanagan, Billie Naylor and Henry Meller), Cassie prepares to leave for a cleaning job on a cruise ship, and Fiz gives her a family photo to keep. Cassie asks Steve to meet her in the precinct, but he’s left alone when Ross pulls up and offers her a lift, quickly locking the doors once she’s in the car.

After telling Ronnie that she’s giving up alcohol entirely, Debbie tries to help a lost woman named Sadie who snaps at her. Later, she sees her on the street, with Sienna rushing over to help her mum, who doesn’t recognise her and lashes out. As Asha tries to help, Sienna turns her down, guiding her mum away as Debbie looks on, agonised at the glimpse into her future.

Elsewhere, Ryan facilitates a meeting between Dylan and Betsy that ends up interrupted by Lisa.

Who attacked Dylan?

Struck to see how much Betsy’s struggling with her words, Lauren tells Brody that Dylan needs to pay. Later, Brody confronts him, but Dylan fires back and accuses him of being jealous of their relationship. Nina Lucas (Mollie Gallagher) intervenes as things look to turn physical and later, she finds Dylan unconscious in the precinct.

Fiz shuts down the conversation fast when Ross announces his intention to move close by, before watching as Ross struggles to keep his story about Cassie’s departure straight when questioned by Steve.

Meanwhile, Asha and Sienna discuss care options for Sienna’s mum, while an overhearing Ronnie regrets taking Debbie away, later promising her that, when the time comes, he’ll employ a carer.

Sean wants answers

After delivering thank you flowers to Nina, Sean Tully (Antony Cotton) goes for Brody on the street, accusing him of attacking Dylan, who intervenes and swears that he’s got it wrong.

When she witnesses Kit receiving a hard drive containing the data he requested from Gary’s phone, Bethany Platt (Lucy Fallon) questions him. Kit tells her all about Gary’s involvement in Theo’s murder and blames him for Sarah Platt’s (Tina O’Brien) predicament, before discovering something intriguing within the data.

Also, Asha and Bernie Winter (Jane Hazlegrove) try to support Sienna, before Bernie later tells Dev Alahan (Jimmi Harkishin) how badly freaked out Sadie was at the prospect, as an uneasy Ronnie listens in, Lauren leaves Betsy alone and returns to find her having wet herself and sobbing to a furious Carla Connor-Swain (Alison King), while Sally talks to Joanie Michaelis (Savanna Pennington) about the dangers of strangulation during sex.
