Emmerdale shares exciting Sadie King filming update as fan anticipation builds

Emmerdale star Emma Atkins has shared an exciting filming update, ahead of Sadie King’s return to the soap. The character, who is played by Patsy Kensit, will soon be back on our screens after 20 years away.
Sadie first arrived in the village in 2004 as the wife of Jimmy King, but their marriage didn’t last very long and she later sparked up romances with Cain Dingle, Robert Sugden and Jimmy’s brother Matthew.
During her whirlwind two years on the soap, the gold digger went to extreme lengths to get her hands on the the King empire. She engaged in multiple affairs, sabotage attempts, and even facilitated an explosion, before being double-crossed by Cain and forced to leave in 2006.
Despite her long list of schemes, Sadie’s most memorable rivalry was with Emmerdale favourite Charity Dingle, who was set to marry her father-in-law Tom King at the time. The pair instantly clashed, prompting Sadie to ruin Charity and Tom’s wedding, but will her comeback reignite the iconic feud?
Speaking about Kensit’s return, Atkins, who plays Charity, said she was “really excited” to work with her on-screen rival again. She shared that Kensit is already back on set and teased some fun callbacks for the audience when she arrives in the Dales.
“I’ve seen her a few times now. I’ve not worked with her yet. I think we do the scenes where she arrives this week in the village and she’s awesome as always,” Atkins said.
“And there’s the fun that we had all that time ago, they’re going to kind of re-enact a few moments that were there in the past that a lot of audience who remember those storylines will be probably pleased to see.”
She added: “Again, always a good dynamic with Charity and Sadie. So I don’t know whether I’ll be working with her much, but yeah, I welcome her back with open arms. She’s awesome.”
The update will come as good news for Emmerdale fans who haven’t heard much since Kensit’s return was originally announced in May. Producer Laura Shaw confirmed that Sadie would “storm back into the village”, describing the scenes as “explosive”.
