They’re currently enjoying a hard-earned holiday in Europe.
But sources tell Woman’s Day that the real reason behind Jelena Dokic and partner Yane Veselinov’s trip could be a little more special than just needing some R&R.
“There are whispers they may well have quietly gotten engaged in Yane’s home country of Macedonia,” says our spy. “He’s been wanting to show off where he was born and raised to her,” they add.
“It was magic. A wonderful time in Macedonia,” Jelena, 43, wrote on Instagram. “Thank you my love @yanedonist for the amazing memories and moments. It was truly magical to experience this with you.”
Tellingly, the insider notes that Yane was especially keen to show Jelena the famous Saint John church in Kaneo, which has become a highly sought-after venue for destination weddings!
“When Jelena does tie the knot it most definitely will have to be an incredibly romantic location – what could be more fitting than a 13th century medieval church with a stunning ocean backdrop?”
Also adding to the engagement buzz, Jelena was sporting a diamond sparkler during the holiday, which also included a stop in Croatia.
The former tennis champ and hospitality operations manager Yane went public with their romance in July 2025.
“You are my calm, safe, peaceful and happy place,” Jelena wrote on Instagram at the time. “So glad I found you.❤️”
After her 19-year relationship with Tin Bikic came to a sudden end in 2021, Jelena vowed to stay single for a while, but was always open to finding love again.
“Do I still believe in love and always will? Absolutely, so we will see what the future brings,” she said prior to meeting Yane.
Last September, she revealed he was worth the wait.
“The most important thing is that we’re happy. I’ve had to do a lot of healing, a lot of soul searching,” Jelena told the Something To Talk About podcast.
“I didn’t really know what was next for me when it came to my private life and maybe finding love one day.
“I gave up on a lot of things, personally, as a woman and had to decide whether I wanted to be a mother, whether I wanted to adopt,” she added.
“I didn’t know what was around the corner. I’m really grateful and lucky to have found someone I can be so happy with at the moment.”
“But we understand each other and he is incredibly kind and generous,” she explained.
“I always said ‘I just want a really good person.’ I’m glad I’ve been able to find that.”
