Home and Away star breaks silence as Harper makes exit announcement

Home and Away star Jessica Redmayne has broken her silence as Harper Matheson announces her exit. In recent scenes, Harper told the police about her violent ex-boyfriend Beau, though he disappeared before he could be arrested.

With Beau on the run, Harper is considering leaving Summer Bay, fearing he could reappear at any moment.

“Cash is the one who sees something isn’t right with Harper and notices the mark on her face. He convinces her to make a statement,” Redmayne told TV Week. “The AVO doesn’t stop Beau from returning to the Bay, though…”

In upcoming scenes, Tane hatches a dangerous plan to flush Beau out of hiding and pretends to be Harper. While posing as Harper, Tane arranges to meet Beau at the beach.

Meanwhile, Dana is furious to learn that Sonny has relapsed. Despite his telling her he would stay off drugs, Dana tells him it is over for good.

Watching the pair argue is Beau, who sweeps in once Dana leaves and threatens Sonny into retracting his police statement. With nothing left to lose, Sonny refuses.

To get Harper on his side, Beau meets her at the beach with flowers in hand and is shocked when Tane appears.

Beau tries to make a run for it but is outnumbered by the police, and Sergeant David Langham arrests him, promising that Harper’s ordeal is finally over.

When Tane tries to relay the good news to Harper at the safe house, she doesn’t believe she will ever be safe, so she tells Tane that she and Archie won’t return to Summer Bay.

Speaking about Harper’s mental state, Redmayne explained: “Harper fears nothing will stop Beau from returning to the Bay in the future to seek revenge on Harper and potentially put Archie’s life in danger.”

She added: “She decides there’s no other option than to leave the Bay and go somewhere Beau can’t find them, so she can protect her son.”
