What is wrong with Joe Tate in Emmerdale as he suffers collapse ahead of death?

A concerning scene aired in today’s episode of Emmerdale may indicate that Joe Tate (Ned Porteous) isn’t as well as he looks following the crash.

Joe, Dawn Taylor (Olivia Bromley) and Jimmy King (Nick Miles) were all knocked unconscious earlier this week when Jimmy crashed his car into a wedding marquee.

Jimmy died as a result of the injuries he sustained in the collision. Seconds after Nicola King (Nicola Wheeler) said goodbye to her husband, she had to race out of the tent due to it being on fire.

They had no choice but to leave Joe inside, who was trapped under a fallen beam.

It looked as though the explosion had killed Joe but, in a pretty amazing twist, he actually survived.

In the hospital, Joe’s focused turned to Dawn, who had gone into early labour. She gave birth to a baby boy.

In today’s episode, Dawn and Joe were relishing in the wonder that their little boy had arrived. Things were perfect – which left viewers suspicious.

Joe got up from the bed and left the room to get Dawn some water.

This was when something very worrying happened.

Joe suddenly collapsed to the floor while he was alone in a corridor. He regained consciousness moments later and also failed to tell a passing member of staff what had happened.

There was no obvious explanation for what had gone on, leaving us wondering whether the crash has caused an injury that Joe – and everyone around him – is yet to discover.

It’s possible we won’t get our answers to this mysterious collapse anytime soon, as Dawn’s death was confirmed moments after Joe returned to her room.
