Emmerdale confirms three characters who’ll bring down Joe Tate in early ITVX episode
"Take him for all you can get!"
Emmerdale spoilers follow from Thursday’s episode (30 April), which is available to watch now on ITVX and YouTube but hasn’t aired on ITV1 yet.
Emmerdale sees Moira Dingle, Cain Dingle and Dawn Fletcher form a new alliance tonight as they vow to make Joe Tate suffer.
The three characters unite on a mission to bring down Joe after his recent scheming, but they’ll be playing the long game.
In Thursday’s episode, Joe tries to make Dawn believe that Moira is mistaken over his involvement in her recent prison ordeal.
Joe previously blackmailed Robert Sugden into planting incriminating documents on Moira’s farm, but when he continues to protest his innocence, Dawn doesn’t believe a word of it.
Finally deciding where her loyalties lie, Dawn arranges a secret meeting with Moira and Cain to discuss her options. While she doesn’t want to stay with Joe, she also feels trapped now that she’s expecting his baby.
“You walk now, then you’ve showed him your hand,” Moira advises. “So go back home, act as if there’s nothing wrong. Carry on as if you believe everything he’s told you.
“The minute he knows that your feelings have changed, you’ve lost. You’ve got to think like he does – be ruthless.”
Dawn and Moira find themselves on the same page as they agree that killing Joe isn’t the answer. While Dawn doesn’t want to be that brutal, Moira feels it’d be too easy a punishment after everything Joe has done.
“Worse than death, to someone like him, would be to break him,” Moira suggests. “Take him for all you can get. Every penny.”
Dawn confirms that she’s willing to hand over the cash to Moira as compensation for everything he’s done to her.
But with Joe no fool – and also backed up by Graham Foster – will things really be that easy?
Natalie J Robb, who plays Moira, recently teased: “I think Joe’s going to be under her radar, it might just be quietly. He might try to talk her round, but we don’t know how that’s going to pan out with the writing and which route they’re going to go.
“But when I was filming the scenes, it was pretty certain that Moira was going to get Joe back in some way or another.
“And she does team up with people to get Joe to suffer in a similar way. That would be through Joe losing everything, so that he has no power. So we’ll see what happens…”
