Parent’s worst nightmare for Abi in Coronation Street as Alfie faces serious illness
Abi Webster made an alarming discovery

Abi Webster (Sally Carman-Duttine) is about to face every parent’s worst nightmare in Coronation Street, as she will learn that her son is unwell as a result of mould growing in her flat.
The character is currently living on the precinct following the breakdown in her relationship with Kevin Webster (Michael Le Vell).
Abi has been dealing with a frustrating aspect of renting a property – a nightmare landlord. Her flat stinks of damp, and the odour is now making her clothes smell bad as well.
During tonight’s episode, Abi tried making a call to her useless landlord about how her flat needs repairing. Listening in on this was Leanne Battersby (Jane Danson), who sympathised with Abi’s situation and hoped it was sorted quickly.
That afternoon, Leanne spent time debating whether she’d give Idris Nazir (Junade Khan) another chance.

Earlier in the week, the newcomer landed in trouble with Leanne after he muted a call on her phone from Toyah Battersby (Georgia Taylor). He had no idea that Toyah was calling Leanne to remind her about visiting Sam Blakeman (Jude Riordan) at the mental health unit, and selfishly meddled with her phone because he wanted to spend more time with her.
Leanne decided to give Idris another chance. Moments later, Abi arrived to pick up a takeaway while making another call to her landlord. She was left stunned when Idris’ phone started ringing, revealing that he was the person she’d been trying to contact.
That evening, Abi was sat beside son Alfie as he fell asleep. The young lad has an awful cough, and Abi concluded they’d be going to the doctors about it soon.
Unbeknownst to Abi, horrific black mould has formed underneath Alfie’s bed. It has appeared as a result of the poor conditions Abi is living in, and will be the reason Alfie is rushed to A&E next week.

Doctors will tell Abi that she needs to find somewhere else to live immediately, so she moves back in with Kevin.
As Idris and Brody Michaelis (Ryan Mulvey) panic about fixing the flat, Leanne and Alya Nazir (Sair Khan) point out that the person who sold Idris the flat potentially knew about the damp all along.
Overwhelmed and angry, Abi wants to hold someone accountable for what has happened to her boy. Sally Webster (Sally Dynevor) suggests that Abi speaks to Adam Barlow (Sam Robertson) about taking legal action, but will Abi win her fight?
