1. Vinny’s family show their support

On the eve of Vinny’s sentencing, Mandy asks him to join the Dingles for tea at Wishing Well Cottage.
Vinny is touched to find the whole family gathered to support him ahead of his court appearance.
2. Vinny’s fate is revealed

The next morning, Vinny braces himself for the tough day ahead. Mandy and Paddy assure him that he’ll be home in no time.
However, when a terrified Vinny appears in court, will the outcome be as lenient as his family hope?
3. Joe avoids a devastating mistake

Joe is seen behaving suspiciously while filling a brown suitcase, clearly up to something again.
Later, Joe hits the bottle and then tries to get behind the wheel of his car while under the influence. Thea intervenes and brings him back to Home Farm.
As Thea won’t be taking any further action on this occasion, Kim thanks her for being so lenient with Joe. She then gives Joe a stern talking-to, pointing out that he nearly made the same mistake as Vinny by driving dangerously.
4. Joe makes a dangerous alliance

Joe is still determined to cause misery for the Miligans, so he asks Sadie to spy on them and gather the evidence he needs to destroy them.
Sadie comes up with a better idea, promising that she can drive the couple apart by seducing Caleb. Joe insists that it’s not possible as Ruby and Caleb’s bond is so strong, but Sadie is determined that she can make it work.
5. Cain issues a warning

Sadie makes it clear that she intends to stick around in the village, even though Jimmy’s funeral has been and gone.
Cain is suspicious and notices that Sadie seems to be sniffing around Caleb. He warns Caleb that Sadie will ruin his life, but Caleb is confident that he has the situation under control.
6. News about Samson divides the Dingles

Matty is having sleepless nights at Emmerdale Farm now that Jacob and Sarah have moved in with baby Leyla, who keeps crying. Moira invites him to move into Wishing Well Cottage, but Belle senses trouble on the horizon as she privately knows that Samson is due to be released from prison soon.
Sure enough, Sam and Lydia are annoyed when they realise that Moira has moved Matty into the room that they’d earmarked for Samson’s return.
7. Moira is urged to move on

As Moira doubles down on her stance, old wounds are re-opened as the Dingles clash over Samson’s past mistreatment of Matty.
With Moira alienating herself from the rest of the family, Matty encourages her to forget about the past and forgive Samson.
8. Gabby tries to make amends

Robert encourages Gabby to heal her rift with Nicola through her actions rather than her words. Gabby takes this on board, promising to give Nicola money through a surprise deal she has made to sell The Hide to Robert.
When Nicola discovers the real reason for Gabby’s recent hospital visit, she finally feels for her and agrees that it’s time to stop fighting.
9. Things continue to go Robert’s way

Gabby and Laurel hand over the keys to The Hide to Robert and Aaron. Aaron is confused about what’s going on, but Robert promises that his scheming will finally end once the deal has gone through.
Cementing the Sugdens’ status in the village, Robert appoints Serena as manager of The Hide. But could an unexpected conversation derail Robert’s plans?
10. Thea plays the long game

A police officer pulls Kim over when she’s driving, but Thea arrives and lets her off the hook. It’s soon revealed that Thea set the whole thing up, wanting to earn Kim’s trust.
Later, Thea boasts to Serena that her scheming is working perfectly, but her friend is growing increasingly concerned about the ongoing revenge plan and how far it might go.
11. Robert plans a high-stakes game

Robert invites Joe and Jai to join him for a game of poker, with big money on the line. Kev considers getting involved too, but backs out when he learns that Claudette will be involved.
Robert isn’t convinced that Claudette is the formidable opponent she’s being made out to be, but could he be underestimating her?
12. Bob supports Nicola

Some letters are delivered around the village. Joe ignores the one that he’s received, while Nicola also bins hers.
Later in the week, Nicola is grateful for Bob’s support as they chat at the café – but Bob has received some bad news of his own…
