Is Jodie leaving Coronation Street? Answers revealed after shooting
Things have taken a very dark turn

Jodie Ramsey (Olivia Frances-Brown) has been shot in Coronation Street – but is she going to survive?
Jodie was introduced to us at the start of the year, during ITV’s Corriedale episode. She was in the back of Graham Foster’s (Andrew Scarborough) van, and made her way to Weatherfield following the multi-vehicle pile up.
We discovered that Jodie is Shona Platt’s (Julia Goulding) sister. The new face wasn’t on the cobbles to reconnect though, as fans learnt that she was hellbent on destroying her sibling’s life.
When she’s not focused on her revenge against Shona, Jodie passes the time by meddling with other residents including Bernie Winter-Alahan (Jane Hazlegrove), Brian Packham (Peter Gunn) and Lily Platt (Grace Ashcroft-Gardner).
‘It’s all about her warped mind.’ Olivia previously told us, revealing just why Jodie is so convinced that she needs to destroy Shona.
‘Jodie has convinced herself that David symbolises her potential for future happiness. She’s lost the plot a little bit and truly believes David is the answer to all her wants and needs – which obviously isn’t reality! She’s just completely hooked on that idea now.
‘She sees David as the answer to everything. She’s convinced herself that if she gets him and takes over that life, she’ll finally be content. Little does she know that probably wouldn’t be the case at all.’
Jodie hates Shona for leaving her at the mercy of their mentally-unwell dad Doug (Steve Evets) when she was just a child. To be fair, Shona was a pregnant teenage mum who was desperate to escape – but Jodie’s not interested in excuses.

‘She practically worships Shona’ Olivia shared. ‘So much so that they’ve got matching tattoos. But those feelings are mixed with animosity that comes from childhood abandonment.’
‘Jodie idolises Shona so much that she literally wants to step into her shoes, take over her life and know what that feels like.’ Olivia explains.
‘By taking over David, the house, the role with Harper – she genuinely wants to know how it feels to be Shona.
‘She loves her sister, but she wishes Shona had treated her differently throughout her life. There’s a deep need to get her own back and have some sort of revenge. As much as she cares about their relationship, she’s willing to do whatever it takes to get the happiness she feels she deserves.’

Is Jodie leaving Coronation Street?
In today’s episode of the ITV soap, the storyline between David, Shona and Jodie takes a massive turn when Jodie believes that David no longer wishes to be with his wife.
As she talks about how she’s wanted to be with David since the moment they met, Jodie fails to realise that David has secretly made a call to Shona.
Shona bursts into the house and confronts her sister about all of her secrets and lies. Sensing that her plan is falling apart, Jodie grabs the gun she’s been hiding and points it at David and Shona.
The couple believe that the weapon is fake. When Shona attempts to grab it from Jodie, the two women are involved in a scuffle, and the gun goes off.
Just as the episode ends, we discover that Jodie has been shot in the stomach.

It certainly looks like the end of this character, but her time in Weatherfield is far from over.
According to The Sun, star Olivia Frances-Brown has signed a new contract with the ITV soap, which means she will play Jodie for at least another year.
This means Jodie will survive today’s shooting – but what will come next?
Will she use Shona’s guilt to her advantage and worm her way back into her life?
Or will Jodie be cast out of the Platt family and left alone?
