1. Samson’s fate is finally revealed

The Dingles are ready to welcome Samson back home, but everything changes when Charles arrives with the news that Tom is in a critical condition after being beaten up in prison. It’s soon revealed that Samson was responsible for the attack, and he won’t be coming home after his bad behaviour behind bars.

Sam is disgusted when he learns that Cain was the one who asked Samson to target Tom. He accuses Cain of causing trouble for Samson, who’s never been truly forgiven for hurting Matty.

2. Sam goes on the attack

The Dingle family tensions continue to escalate, and Sam ends up attacking Cain. As Cain storms off, Sam breaks down over the missed opportunity to welcome his son back home.

The next day, Samson calls Sam with the news that his latest charges could lead to a long stretch in prison.

3. Belle fears Tom’s response

Belle worries about how Tom will respond to being attacked by Samson. She was already anxious about Tom’s imminent release, and fears that this will have given him a reason to torment her again.

As Belle worries, she feels unsupported by the rest of her family, with Sam, Cain and Moira continuing to clash around her. Sam insists that Cain and Moira should move out, but Cain insists that Belle should make the decision. Belle loses her temper, adamant that this shouldn’t be anyone’s priority right now.

4. Belle heads to see Tom

Belle makes a difficult decision of her own, announcing that she wants to see Tom in hospital to explain that she wasn’t involved in the attack.

Kammy accompanies Belle there, but she insists that he should wait outside as his presence could rile Tom up further. Kammy agrees to give Belle ten minutes before sending help – how will it go?

5. Kev admits his true feelings

Nicola dismisses Laurel when her best friend questions whether she may have feelings for Kev. As far as Nicola is concerned, there is nothing going on between them.

Kev clearly thinks differently, though, as he tells Lewis that he thinks there’s a romantic spark between him and Nicola.

6. Robert welcomes Kev to his new business

Robert asks Kev to cook some steaks to see whether he’d be a suitable chef at The Hide, which is now being rebranded as The Smokehouse. Impressed by Kev’s efforts, Robert defies Aaron’s disapproval by deciding to give him a permanent job.

Nicola is sad when Kev announces that he’ll be leaving the café. She suggests one last cup of tea for closure, but Kev turns her down.

7. Joe threatens Caleb

Joe continues to hint that he’ll tell Ruby about Caleb’s betrayal, but Caleb calls his bluff by insisting that Ruby would never believe him. Joe bites back by pointing out that Ruby would believe her new pal Sadie, who now seems to be holding all the cards.

Caleb is keen to get rid of Sadie, so he offers to give her the deposit for a flat in Banbury. Sadie is offended and warns Caleb to stop assuming the worst of her.

8. Caleb commits sabotage

Caleb agrees to help Sadie with some paperwork for Ruby’s wine business. However, when one of Ruby’s clients doesn’t receive their order, it’s clear that Caleb has taken the opportunity to sabotage Sadie.

Sadie realises that Caleb has set her up for a fall, but there’s a positive outcome when Ruby praises her handling of the situation. The bond of friendship between Sadie and Ruby is stronger than ever – and when Sadie secretly watches footage from her night with Caleb, it’s clear that she hasn’t finished scheming just yet.

9. Kim confides in Mary and Charity

Kim wants to spend time with Thea. Sadly, there’s another setback when Thea notices that Kim is hesitant to tell Mary about their true connection. Once a hurt Thea has walked off, Kim is honest with Mary about what’s going on. Mary suggests that she should keep trying with her long-lost daughter.

Kim also decides to share the details with unlikely ally Charity, who offers some similar advice and points out that she went through a similar situation with Ryan.

10. Kim makes an announcement

When Thea agrees to another meeting, Kim takes the opportunity to announce to everyone at The Woolpack that Thea is her daughter.

Thea is touched by Kim’s gesture, but Graham and Joe are less enthusiastic as they decide to keep a close eye on the newcomer in town.

11. The Sugdens pull together

Things are looking good for The Smokehouse, as Serena decides to invest £10,000 of her savings into Robert’s business. The only early hiccup is Kev’s overambitious approach to his new role as chef.

When Robert reveals the business’s new sign, Gabby can’t help feeling dismayed by everything she’s lost.

12. Kim continues to shut Gabby out

Kim is struggling to forgive Gabby for her recent stunt doing Joe’s dirty work.

She turns down a chance to spend time with Gabby and Thomas – leaving Gabby disappointed that Kim is still giving her the cold shoulder.
