Three Emmerdale deaths explained as new spoilers reveal what happens next

Another game-changer of a visit to Emmerdale

If you’re struggling to pick your jaw up from the floor following that Emmerdale cliffhanger then trust me you weren’t alone.

With yet another explosive and brilliant week under its belt, the ITV soap concluded Friday’s visit to the village with a whopper of a reveal as Charity Dingle (Emma Atkins) told granddaughter Sarah Sugden (Katie Hill) a big secret.

And not just any big secret – we mean the big secret. The fact that baby Leyla is Charity’s biological child and not Sarah’s!

Charity confessed the truth in a bid to stop Sarah from reporting herself to the police over Dr Todd’s (Caroline Harker) demise. Sarah, as viewers know, pushed Todd a number of weeks ago, which unexpectedly resulted in her death.

Charity took the blame and claimed to the police that it was self-defence but discrepancies in her story resulted in DS Thea Ramsden (Chelsea Edge) hauling her back into the station. The stress of the development led to a guilty Sarah confiding in Mack Boyd (Lawrence Robb) about how she is Todd’s killer.

Mack agreed with Sarah that she needed to tell the police the truth but, in a bid to prevent Sarah from doing so, Charity revealed all about baby Leyla.

Todd’s death wasn’t the only one Emmerdale shed some light on during the the episode in question, as viewers – and Kev Barton (Chris Coghill) – learned exactly how Vinny Dingle (Bradley Johnson) was responsible for the demise of both Jimmy King (Nick Miles) and Dawn Taylor (Olivia Bromley).

But with explanations – truthful or otherwise – given for three key show deaths, the question is: who is going to prison and who is not? While we can’t reveal the answer to such a question just yet, we can give you a little preview of what’s to come next week – with juicy spoilers revealing what happens next.

What happens next in Emmerdale? Spoilers for Monday, September 7 episode

With a major cliffhanger such as this one, fans can expect Monday’s visit to the village to pick up from where things left off.

Sarah’s world is understandably shattered in the aftermath of Charity’s revelation.

Sarah attempts to process what she has learned

As viewers know, all she wanted was to become a mum and she’s come to see baby Leyla as her own daughter, believing gran Charity was her surrogate – unaware of the the fact that she cheated on Mack with ex Ross, who is the baby’s father.

Will Sarah be able to process such news?

And will it change her mind on going to the police? Later in the week, Charity is charged with murder and held behind bars – so it seems that a bleak future lies ahead for the Woolpack landlady.

But back to Monday, how will Sarah feel about the fact that Charity, Mack and Ross knew such a colossal secret and kept it from her for so long? And what’s more, will she be able to break the news to Jacob Gallagher (Joe-Warren Plant)?

Caleb looks hot under the collar-but why?

Elsewhere, Vinny has just confided in Kev about how he’s to blame for Jimmy and Dawn’s deaths.

Will Kev honour his promise to keep shtum and not to judge? He’s grown incredibly close to Nicola (Nicola Wheeler) over the past few weeks, not to mention son Lewis’ (Bradley Riches) love for the cafe owner, so will Kev feel compelled to come clean? Lewis is excited during the episode in question for different reasons but will Kev be able to keep a lid on what he’s discovered?

And speaking of Nicola, she just caught Sadie King (Patsy Kensit) snooping in Victoria Cottage.

Will Sadie be able to explain what she was up to? Or are fans theories correct about her – is she up to no good and lying about Jimmy’s affair?

And to finish the spoilers out, one last little bit: Caleb Miligan (William Ash) is hot under the collar – but why?
