Emmerdale’s Moira lashes out in sudden outburst amid major Cain secret

Emmerdale‘s Moira Dingle lashed out at her son in a sudden outburst in the latest episode of the ITV soap, as she continues to keep a secret from her husband, Cain Dingle.

Viewers know that Cain, who was diagnosed with prostate cancer earlier this year, is getting ready for his operation next week, with the couple putting on a united front.

Ahead of the operation, Moira has been keeping a secret from Cain, choosing not to tell him that Robert Sugden was involved in Joe Tate’s plot to orchestrate her imprisonment by planting the ID cards.

In tonight’s episode, Moira shouted at Isaac for watching television when he was sick. After asking him if he lied to get out of school, Moira told him off, saying he had to go back to school to apologise to his teacher.

When Isaac said he would get in trouble, Moira yelled: “Good. That’s what you deserve. I am sick of everyone treating me like some idiot. You selfish, silly little boy.”

Moira later regretted her actions and admitted that she was more stressed about Cain’s operation than she realised, and she apologised to Isaac.

But struggling to keep Robert’s betrayal from Cain ahead of his operation, Moira’s stress continued to mount.

In the evening, Cain told Moira he was worried about how his operation would change their relationship, but Moira reassured him.

She said: “Whatever happens tomorrow, whatever changes, we’ll face it together.”

In next week’s scenes, Cain will finally learn the truth about Robert, leading to serious consequences as he takes the terrified farmer hostage.

“Cain is fuming,” said Jeff Hordley, who plays Cain. “Even though he’s just out of hospital and not feeling one hundred per cent, Cain finds the strength to grab a hammer, then takes Sam and sneaks off to see Robert…”
