‘Anxious and frustrated’ Helen Flanagan explains sudden social media absence
Helen returned to social media to explain her absence

Helen Flanagan has been incredibly conspicuous by her absence from social media recently, with the former Coronation Street star usually having quite the presence on Instagram.
Fans needn’t worry, though, because she returned this weekend with a video posted to her story explaining that she’s been having a turbulent time career-wise that’s left her feeling ‘anxious’ and ‘frustrated’.
‘I really have been kind of quiet on my social,’ she started.
‘I’ve just kind of felt like not sure… I’ve not really been sure of myself recently.
‘I kind of feel like… I’m turning 36 in August, I’ve just done this house move, I really want to act and basically I just want a job at the moment and I feel frustrated in that way.
‘I kind of feel like…I’m turning 36 in August, I’ve just done this house move, I’m kind of unsure where I am like, career-wise as well.’

Helen went on to explain: ‘I have worked on social media, and it’s been my job, like I worked on social media from 28 until, well I am nearly 36, and I genuinely really loved it.
‘I loved the creativity of it and self expression and working with other women, I’ve genuinely really really enjoyed it.
She went on to tell viewers that she’s endured a ‘lot of change’ as she considers relocating her family.

‘There’s a lot of change going on, and I don’t know, I’ve just felt a bit weird in myself.
‘I’m in two minds about moving to London. I was going to buy here then I decided not to buy here so everything’s just been a bit, like, all over the place.
‘I’ve just felt frustrated with work as well because I really want to act and basically, I just want a job at the moment and feel frustrated in that way.
‘So yeah I’ve just kind of frustrated.’

Helen has previously spoken about her desire to return to where it all began for her: Coronation Street on a number of occasions, telling the Echo:
‘Honestly if they want me to come back, I’d love to, but [show bosses] just haven’t spoken to me. Everybody always asks me, ‘When are you going back to Corrie? And it’s like, ‘They haven’t called me’. If you want to call me, that’s great. But they haven’t.’
‘I just really want to concentrate on my acting now. I feel really lucky. All my children are now at school so I want to concentrate on my career.
‘I’ve been very lucky. I’m just a normal northern, down to earth mum. I’ve been very lucky to have opportunities in the career I’ve had.’

Fans were previously delighted when Helen reunited with her former on-screen sister, Brooke Vincent, when they both attended a celebration of International Women’s Day at Salford’s Lowry Hotel.
The annual lunch, geared towards celebrating women’s achievements and resilience, saw guest speakers share inspiring stories and performers take to the stage for an afternoon of entertainment.
Helen released a book earlier this year entitled: Head & Heart: Break-ups, Breakdowns and Being Rosie, in which she discussed her time on the street and experiences since.
